About Inspire Racing

Founded in 2023 by Matthew Corban, Inspire Racing is a boutique New Zealand Thoroughbred syndicator built around one simple philosophy: quality over quantity.

Every horse is purchased with the same care and discipline as if it were being bought entirely for ourselves. Rather than assembling a large team, we focus on sourcing athletic, well-bred thoroughbreds and placing them with trainers we believe give each horse the greatest opportunity to succeed.

Today, Inspire Racing campaigns horses on both sides of the Tasman through partnerships with Allan Sharrock, Mark Walker & Sam Bergerson and Richard & Will Freedman, giving our owners access to some of Australasia's leading racing jurisdictions.

Whether it's a maiden at New Plymouth or a Saturday meeting at Rosehill Gardens, our goal remains the same—to give every horse the best opportunity to perform and every owner an experience they'll remember.

Why I Started Inspire Racing

I started Inspire Racing because I wanted to build the type of syndicator I'd want to own horses with.

Small, transparent, highly communicative, and focused on buying quality horses rather than simply growing numbers.

Before founding Inspire Racing, I worked for Racing NSW during one of the most transformative periods in Australian racing, including the launch of The Everest. That experience showed me what a modern racing business could become and reinforced something I'd always believed: racing is at its best when it creates unforgettable experiences for owners.

Introducing new people to thoroughbred ownership has become one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Whether someone owns 1% or 100%, everyone deserves to feel part of the journey.

Every horse we purchase is selected as though I were buying it entirely for myself. My focus isn't simply on finding talented racehorses—it's on creating lasting memories for the people who race them with us.
