THE PEDIGREE FACTS:
The granddam is the elite 2YO Karuta Queen, winner of the $2,000,000 Magic Millions 2YO Classic and a pre-Christmas 2YO. She won her first four starts as a juvenile, from October to January. What I really admire is that she continued to perform as a 3YO and older mare. She went on to win a Group 3 and a Listed race as a 3YO and was Group 1-placed at weight-for-age as a 4YO, proving she wasn’t just a flash-in-the-pan juvenile like many others.
The dam is a half-sister to three stakes horses.
HER KENTUCKY DERBY WINNING BROODMARE SIRE
Big Brown boasts a 13% stakes-winners-to-runners ratio when crossed with Danehill-line stallions as broodmare sires.
A standout racehorse, he was known for his explosive speed and dominance on the track, winning the 2008 Kentucky Derby in commanding fashion, solidifying his place as one of the most celebrated 3YOs of his generation.
His presence in this filly’s pedigree adds an international blend of speed and stamina.
HER WORLD CHAMPION SPRINTER SIRE

Bivouac is an elite sprinter who stands for $55,000 AUD at Darley Stud in Australia. While he won a Group 3 as a 2YO, he truly shone as a Group 1-winning sprinter at 3 and 4, proving himself one of Australia’s best.
He’s off to a fantastic start at stud, with his oldest progeny now 2YOs. His fillies are particularly excelling, including Group 2 winners Intention and Beiwacht (colt) in New Zealand and Australia respectively, while Luana Miss has recently joined the growing list of stakes-winning fillies. Cavalry Girl also looks like a stakes horse in the making after an impressive debut win.
Notably, Champion Australian trainer Ciaron Maher has purchased five Bivouac fillies at the yearling sales this year. A strong vote of confidence in the sire’s future.

WHY WE THINK SHE IS WORTH A PUNT
This filly has the pedigree and conformation to be a 2YO runner, but also the scope to train on at 3YO and beyond. That’s what excites me—both Bivouac and her granddam Karuta Queen had exceptional careers past their juvenile season.
She also holds strong residual value if she picks up black type or even just wins a few Saturday races. Right now, her price is in line with her sire’s service fee, making her outstanding value. A lovely type that shouldn’t take long to get to the races.
Her trainer, Allan Sharrock, is one of the most successful strike-rate trainers in New Zealand. He operates a stable of just 40 horses yet consistently finishes among the top five trainers.
This year, he trained Almakeitgood, one of the leading Karaka Million contenders, who was unfortunately scratched days before the race. We believe he deserves redemption next year, and we were looking for a filly that ticks all the boxes. We believe this is the one.
